Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club, located in the scenic coastal town of Whangamat, has been providing essential services to promote safe and enjoyable beach experiences since 1949. One of the club's primary focuses is the Junior Surf programme, which offers children aged 5 to 13 the opportunity to learn how to stay safe both on the beach and in the water. The club's patrol hours for the upcoming 2023/2024 season are from Labour weekend until Easter, with additional weekday patrols from 11th December 2023 to 16th February 2024. The South beach flagged area patrols operate from 25th December 2023 to 14th January 2024, between 11 am and 5 pm.
