Established on March 29, 1993, by the esteemed Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri, this center serves as a City Centre of ICYER (International Centre for Yoga Education and Research). Located conveniently behind the New Bus Station, it has become a beacon for over 500 active students and boasts an impressive alumni network of more than 10,000 individuals.

Yoganjali Natyalayam thrives on nurturing a warm, inclusive community where everyone from beginners to seasoned practitioners can find their place. The center's deep-rooted traditions in both the performing arts and the spiritual teachings of the Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga Tradition create a unique learning environment that embodies the rich cultural heritage of India. A significant contributing factor to the thriving Yoga Sport movement in the region is the Pondicherry Yogasana Association, founded by Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri in 1975. This association, integral to Yoganjali Natyalayam, has successfully organized 34 Annual Pondy State Yogasana Championships, drawing in over 600 enthusiastic competitors from 30 diverse institutions. This dedication to promoting yoga as a sport has cemented Puducherry’s reputation as a leading center for yogic excellence.
