Yoga with Tori Leicester (Braunstone) is a welcoming and relaxed yoga studio located in Leicester, New Zealand. Tori Magee, the studio's instructor, is passionate about sharing the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of yoga with her students.
Tori's journey with yoga began as a teenager when she used it as a warm-up for her ballet classes. As she grew older, she tried various yoga classes but struggled to find a space that was beginner-friendly, welcoming, and authentic to traditional yoga practises. This motivated her to study Traditional Hatha Yoga in the Himalayas of India and Nepal in 2013 and 2014, where she developed a deeper appreciation for a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
With an emphasis on clean eating, mindfulness, and meditation, along with physical yoga practise, Tori experienced a significant improvement in her overall outlook on life. Her aim now is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and encouraging environment for her students to cultivate gratitude and love for themselves and others. Tori is dedicated to passing on her knowledge in an accessible way to help others both physically and emotionally.
Whether you're new to yoga or have previous experience, Tori's classes are designed to be authentic and accessible for everyone, regardless of physical ability, injuries, or conditions. Tori holds a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification from Bhakti Yogshala in Rishikesh, India, which focused on correct alignment and anatomy. This foundation allows her to help students with physical injuries and chronic conditions through movement. Additionally, she incorporates mantra, pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation into her beginner classes.
Tori's commitment to continuous learning led her to obtain a 500-hour Yoga Alliance Advanced Teaching Certification from Guruji A L V Kumar of Traditional Yoga & The Yoga Healing Foundation of India. This advanced course deepened her understanding of Yogic Philosophy and the connexion between physical and spiritual cleansing for overall health. Through teachings of pure love and acceptance with zero resistance, Tori learned to break away from conditioned thoughts and perceptions.
Yoga with Tori Leicester (Braunstone) offers a variety of classes across Leicester. Whether you prefer a single class or want to make a monthly block booking, Tori provides flexibility in scheduling. Some classes available include beginner-friendly sessions at Glenfield and Birstall. Each class lasts for one hour and follows a similar structure, incorporating pranayama, mantra, seated and standing asanas (static poses), and guided meditation.
Tori's classes focus on improving strength, flexibility, and balance while also offering a space for relaxation and destressing.
