In partnership with Australian Sailing, the Albert Park Yacht Club is an accredited Discover Sailing Training Centre, ensuring high-quality instruction and a comprehensive curriculum. The Learn to Sail courses are conducted on Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon, providing a structured and supportive environment for novice sailors.

Learn to Sail Level 1 focuses on the basics of sailing, providing participants with hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced instructors. Aspiring sailors gain confidence and knowledge while navigating the protected waters of Albert Park Lake. In Learn to Sail Level 2, participants progress towards independent sailing, honing their skills and becoming capable of handling small dinghies on their own in moderate winds.

To get involved, interested individuals can visit the club's website and fill out the membership application form. Once approved, they will be scheduled for the next available Learn to Sail course. Active participation in the club's sailing events is encouraged, allowing sailors to further develop their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of the sailing community. Membership at the Albert Park Yacht Club offers a once-off cost of $100 for seniors and family members and $50 for juniors, providing access to free training sessions.
