Alexandra Bridge Club

Alexandra Bridge Club, in the heart of Central Otago, has been a gathering spot for bridge lovers since 1972. Joan Botting, the club's president, continues to foster a sense of community among local and visiting players. The club, now situated in Alexandra after moving from Clyde in 2019, offers purpose-built rooms that make every session enjoyable.

Bridge sessions happen thrice weekly: Monday and Wednesday evenings, and Friday mornings. In January, Holiday Bridge on Wednesday evenings offers a chance for casual play amidst the stunning Central Otago scenery.

Two tournaments are held annually, drawing players from places like Invercargill, Dunedin, Queenstown, Wanaka, Christchurch, and even the North Island. Joan welcomes everyone to these competitive yet friendly events.

The club's members, with varying skill levels, come together to enjoy the game, with a nominal fee of $4 per session for visitors. Joan ensures that everyone, whether they're new to bridge or seasoned experts, feels included.
