Certified Diving with Poseidon Cruises Outer Reef Day Cruise is a fantastic opportunity for scuba diving enthusiasts to explore the stunning underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. The event takes place on the modern 24-meter dive catamaran, Poseidon, which departs daily from Port Douglas. With three different and unique reef environments, including the Agincourt ribbon reefs and Escape Reef, participants will have access to over 35 spectacular and exclusive reef sites. The selection of sites is carefully curated each day to suit the conditions for the best experience possible.
This event is suitable for experienced divers and snorkelers, with a separate dive tender available to assist with drift and wall diving. The Agincourt ribbon reefs offer clear outer reef waters, beautiful corals, and a diverse array of marine life, providing a pristine and special snorkeling and diving experience. Participants can enjoy unlimited snorkeling, try an introductory scuba dive if it's their first time, or experience up to three dives if they are certified divers.
One of the highlights of this event is the opportunity to swim with the Dwarf Minke Whales, thanks to the special permit obtained by Poseidon. This unique experience allows participants to get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
The event begins with check-in at the Quicksilver Reservations Counter located inside the Port Douglas Marina. Participants will be treated to complimentary morning tea/breakfast during vessel boarding. After departing from Port Douglas marina, there will be dive briefings for the first reef location. Introductory and certified divers will gear up, while snorkelers receive a site briefing. A delicious buffet lunch will be served in the air-conditioned cabin, and there is an option for a second dive at the second reef location. Participants can also enjoy afternoon tea on board until departure. Before heading back to Port Douglas Marina, all passengers will board the vessel for the final passenger count. Coaches will be available to transport participants back to their accommodations.
The prices for this incredible event start at $207.00 per person for the Snorkel & Cruise package, which includes the Government Environmental Management Charge (EMC). Additional add-ons and optional activities such as introductory dives and certified scuba dives are available at varying prices. Return coach transfers can also be arranged at an additional cost.
