Quicksilver Dive, the local scuba diving club in Port Douglas, is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for all diving enthusiasts. The club is organising the highly sought-after PADI Dive Master Course, the first step towards becoming a scuba diving professional.
The Dive Master Course offers an incredible chance to take your diving skills to the next level. With this certification, you will have the authority to supervise recreational diving activities and work as an instructional assistant on all PADI courses. It's the perfect stepping stone towards achieving the prestigious PADI Instructor rating.
Under the direct supervision of a PADI instructor, the course lasts for up to 15 days. During this time, you will have the chance to fine-tune your dive skills, expand your knowledge about diving, and develop your management and supervision abilities. The comprehensive coursework focuses on leadership and taking charge of dive activities, ensuring that you become a capable and confident Divemaster.
Throughout the course, you will participate in engaging knowledge development sessions, water skill exercises and workshops, as well as hands-on practical assessments. These activities will equip you with the necessary skills to organise and direct various scuba diving activities. You will learn about the role and characteristics of a PADI Divemaster, supervising dive activities, diver safety and risk management, divemaster conducted programs and specialised skills, the business of diving and your career, awareness of the dive environment, dive setup and management, mapping an open water site, conducting dive briefings, organising search and recovery projects and deep dives, conducting scuba reviews and skin diver course assisting with Discover Scuba Diving, and leading Discover Local Diving programs.
Please note that the course itinerary may vary and can be provided upon request. The cost of the PADI Dive Master Certification course is $2,900.00 per person. This price includes the Great Barrier Reef Government Environmental Management Charge (EMC) of $6.50 per day, per person, ensuring that you can fully enjoy the marvellous underwater experience while contributing to the preservation of this precious natural wonder.
To be eligible for the course, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 40 logged dives. Additionally, a current first aid certification completed within the last 24 months and a dive medical are required.
