Wangal Park

Wangal Park, located at the corner of Cheltenham Road and Royce Avenue in Croydon, is a large park spanning 4. 2 hectares. The park aims to provide a recreational and visually pleasing environment for residents, offering a refuge from the surrounding urban landscape. It boasts an abundance of trees, native plant species, and serves as a habitat for various fauna.

The park's opening and closing times vary based on the season. During winter, it is open from 5:30am to 6:30pm, while in summer (during daylight savings), it extends its operating hours from 5:30am to 8:30pm.

As of July 1, 2023, Wangal Park's BBQ shelter area is available for hire. It is an excellent location for events such as birthday parties, family gatherings, and work team-building activities. The BBQ sheltered area is equipped with two double burner BBQs, six fixed tables, and seating. To check availability and make a booking, interested parties can visit the “Bookable” website and submit an application.

Wangal Park offers a range of facilities and features that cater to various recreational interests. These include accessible BBQ facilities, a drinking fountain, a half-court basketball court, picnic tables, a playground, shaded areas, a skate park, a sports area with paved surfaces, toilets, and walking trails.
