About
Welcome to Yoga Rakshanam, a sanctuary for holistic well-being and personal growth, nestled in the heart of timeless yogic traditions. Established in April 2002, Yoga Rakshanam thrives on the passion and dedication of its founding teachers - D.V. Sridhar, Viji Vasu, and Radha Sridhar. All three have been deeply influenced by the teachings of Sri T.K.V. Desikachar, the progeny of the legendary yogi, Sri T. Krishnamacharya. Their accumulated wisdom forms the cornerstone of our unique approach.
Yoga Rakshanam understands the multifaceted challenges of modern life and strives to protect and nurture health, peace of mind, and personal relationships through the transformative power of Yoga. The studio offers various classes that cater to different interests and needs, such as Yogasūtra chanting, group sessions, children’s classes, and even specialized yoga therapy. The philosophy here is to help individuals achieve their personal and professional goals with minimal losses, fostering a balanced and harmonious lifestyle.
The teaching lineage at Yoga Rakshanam is a testament to its unparalleled expertise. D.V. Sridhar, a former mechanical engineer and IIT Madras postgraduate, followed his calling to the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, where he dedicated himself to teaching and the practice of yoga therapy, or Cikitsa. His extensive experience and commitment have led him to be an integral part of shaping yoga teaching standards in India. Alongside him, a passionate team of instructors shares the collective vision of promoting well-being and mindfulness.
Beyond the regular classes, Yoga Rakshanam also believes in extending its reach through various outreach programs in schools, colleges, and sports institutions, along with personalized home visits. This inclusive approach ensures that the benefits of yoga are accessible to a broader community, making yoga a part of daily life for many.
Discover the essence of Yoga through the welcoming and supportive environment at Yoga Rakshanam.
