321 Splash Swim School in Northampton is dedicated to helping both children and adults develop their swimming skills in a welcoming and relaxed setting. Their top priority is the safety of all swimmers.
The school offers a range of classes to suit every age and skill level. They have group lessons for adults, children's group lessons for those aged 4 and above, and one-on-one sessions. Each class is designed to meet the participants' unique needs and abilities.
For young swimmers starting out in Stage 1, the focus is on water safety skills, such as answering safety questions, breath control, and safe pool entry and exit. They'll also learn basic kicking, self-propulsion, and buoyancy skills.
As swimmers move to Stage 2, they gain more confidence in the water. They'll practise keeping their eyes down while blowing bubbles, develop a strong kick, and start basic freestyle arms. By this stage, they can swim 7 metres of basic freestyle and float comfortably on their back.
In Stage 3, swimmers build on their skills with unassisted freestyle arms, backstroke kicking, and attempts at breaststroke. They'll also learn to swim to the teacher and practise various rolling and floating exercises.
By Stage 4, swimmers are very confident and independent. They'll work on advanced techniques like step or jump entries, gliding, object retrieval from the pool bottom, and sculling. Swimmers at this stage can swim 15 metres unassisted and perform bilateral breathing.
In Stage 5, swimmers showcase proficiency in various skills. They can swim 5 metres on their front and back, perform different entries, tread water, and swim back crawl for 15 metres. They'll also learn to do handstands and push and glide on their side.
